What a great start! I am thoroughly impressed by the knowledge and passion demonstrated by our leadership. This “charge” document fulfills its mission. Of course, I have a few comments to make.
I would like to see the word “student” inserted strategically in a couple of places. In particular, on page 2 , bullet 4, and perhaps with an additional bullet that reads “Increase individual campus constituencies (student, faculty, staff) awareness of Auxiliary Services role in the educational process.” Any other place we could insert student or student services would be wise.
Also, in the core competencies under Management include a fundamental level course on “Getting Things Done When You Are not in Charge.” since auxiliary professionals are not the ultimate campus decision makers. Under Marketing I think we need two additional competencies, at the Intermediate or Advanced level 1) Marketing Strategy Development, and 2) Marketing Plan Development and Implementation. Finally, would an overview course about Typical Campus Organizational Structure and Responsibilities be helpful?
