The 2010 Central Annual Conferece in Cleveland this year may not have been the best attended conference, but I think all the attendees agreed that it was more than worthwhile. I personally enjoyed the tours and hospitality of both Cleveland State and Case Western Universities (despite the long walk across campus at Case - the meal at the end made it more than worth it).
More exciting than the events though were the workshops. Terri Bump, from American Campus Communities, presented an excellent work shop on social media and how to take advantage of Twitter, Facebook, and other resources (like this NACAS online community) to really develop as a professional and communicate better with today's students which really got me thinking and acting (follow me on Twitter folks, look for @dwahr).
Workshops presented by the good people from NACS (National Association of College Stores) included two authors talking about there books, implementing HEOA, the bookstore of 2015, and some real stats on what our students think about their bookstores. All this plus Spotting Tech Trends in Student Populations, and lots of discussion with fellow auxiliary professionals and business partners.
Yep, another great conference. Can't wait until Colorado Springs in November!
