If you are reading this, you’ve gotten into our new social networking site and are about to find something new and useful to enhance the important work that you do for higher education and auxiliary services. NACAS has long been a leader in providing the people, programs and knowledge-sharing, that enable you to be a better professional. With the opening of these resources, we move to another level.
This is another important contribution of our NACAS Education Foundation. Similar to the Certification Task Force from 2003 to 2005 that took our professional development programs to a whole new level, and their seed funds to develop our 2006 webcasts, they have used your funds to help us buy the software that allows these new capabilities. They are constantly seeking “Transformational Ideas”, and this is yet another good one.
But this is “another” step forward, not the final step. Our development of this social/professional network depends upon you.
You need to use it and share your work with your colleagues.
You can provide us with sample contracts, RFPs, and other documents so that all can share them in our new “Resource Library.”
You can also participate in our new specialized communities, the revised “Listserv”, and our discussion groups.
You can also critique what we’re doing and advise us on how to change. We changed the “User Name” feature because of your suggestions. We know that even with this advancement, we’re nowhere near the “bleeding edge” developments that you see on your own campuses. We won’t take it personally if you provide us with critique and suggestions as long as you understand that we may not be able to afford all that you suggest – right away.
You can also work with your regional NACAS leadership and our NACAS Board to insure that we are taking the right direction for you.
I’ll also put in my plug that you can consider a donation to the NACAS Education Foundation. There are SO MANY things that they allow us to innovatively develop. Your contribution funds the future of your profession.
And finally you can comment right here. Let me know how we can improve this new Professional Networking. We’re here to serve you and together we will get this right.
So, I’ll see you at the regional conferences; I’ll see you in Hawaii; and/or I’ll see you on-line. Thank you for ALL that you do!
