meal swipe bank for donation

We are exploring having students donate a meal swipe to a "bank" for students who have food insecurity.  Has anyone does this and if so, what is your card system and how does the bank work?

    Thank you.

    Hey Becky,

This is definitely not a question that you are alone in asking and I'm happy to provide some links for resources you can utilize. I recommend that you view the recording of Rhode Island School of Design's 'Swipe it Forward' program and consider registering for our upcoming event that will center around Northeastern University's 'Swipe2Care' program. The two of these should be a great starting point for planning how something like that might come to life on your own campus!

Hi Becky - you should check out SwipeHunger.org - we work with them on our campus and they do a great job.
I can share more specifics off-line next week when things lighten up a bit, but I'll share that they do lots of the work, including partnering with a food service provider if you have one.  Just need to frame the "how" and the "what" with them...

It's a great idea for sure.  Hope you can make it happen quickly and effectively for your students.
