    Hello Everyone,
Is anyone holding out hope for Summer Camps over July and August?  In addition, is anyone still holding out hope for a postponed Commencement in July or August?

    Thanks,

    Brian

We (Centre College) are planning to have our commencement later in the year--date to be determined.  We have cancelled and communicated no activities (camps and such) through June 30.  I believe we will make a call on July in the next 7-10 days.  I am interested in hearing what others are doing on these two topics too.

    Good Morning Kay,

Gettysburg College will conduct a commencement exercise on October 10 for those students wishing to return to campus to do so.

Our summer programs have been cancelled through June as well and I suspect July will be too. We still have over 500 rooms filled with students belongings who could not return to campus after spring break to collect their stuff. Facilities will need time to prepare for the fall semester, hopefully with students on campus.

Texas State plans to open for face to face classes for Summer II which begins July 6th as well as Fall.  There are a few camps that are talking about wanting to come but none of those would be considered unless Summer II is face to face.

We have cancelled all our summer camps and conferences for the entire summer.  We are focusing on preparing for students to return to campus in August.  Currently we are planning for our commencement in the Fall - but this will be dictated by the size of groups that are allowed to be gathered.

    Good morning, all,

The Governor of Georgia came out with guidance surrounding day camps and overnight camps yesterday.  Currently, no overnight camps are allowed; however, we are closed for events through June 30th and are waiting until June 1 to make the call for July.  I've attached the order, pages 22-25, which has 33 guidelines for camps for your reading entertainment.

Have a great and safe day!

    Hello Brian,

UCLA is still hoping to operate some sort of summer. That was until yesterday when LA County announced that they may keep the safer at home order in place through July. If that happens, then we won't have much time left for any sort of summer operation with outside groups. Perhaps some early fall arrivals, but that would be small at best.

Davidson College has not set a date for graduating seniors to come back to campus for a ceremony and festivities but is exploring dates.  All day and overnight camps and activities have been cancelled through June.  All overnights have been cancelled through July.  A decision on July day camps will be made at the end of this month.  Stay safe everyone!  Richard

    Hi Brian,
We have a few coaches and one group all in late July that would like to hold camp if possible. I am working on putting together some guidelines the leaders would need to agree too as well as additional liability waiver if these events are to move forward.
EMU would like to hold some type of commencement event during our homecoming weekend in October. The logistics of having two large (resource intensive) events at the same time has its challenges. A group on campus is looking at this to see what is possible and what is not.
Please let me know if you have any specific questions.

Thank you for the marvelous contributions, all! The discussion has been absolutely terrific and I encourage additional responses to the thread but I did want to remind folks that we do have a roundtable focused on how to execute adjusted commencement plans. This is a follow-up from our previous discussion on how COVID-19 is impacting commencement, and there's sure to be a terrific conversation lined up today!
