This is what Sheridan is doing. We have weekly order forms and students decide which meals they want delivered to the lobby of the residence (we don't have a dining hall). The menu is set weekly.
We are just starting it so I don't have any data regarding how well it's going yet.
Stephanie – I would like to know what others are doing. Starting Monday we will literally have just 30 students that we provided exemptions for remaining on campus.
There is a skeleton crew working on campus, and probably a few people (50-100) in surrounding off campus residences that may/may not have meal plans.
We have started B, L, D hot fresh meal service (we serve buffet style into to-go containers), for a couple hours each. This is not sustainable given these low numbers. We served 76 meal total yesterday.
To cut costs, we are looking to possibly only stay open for service for these 30 exempted resident students and no one else. That way we may be able to handle it as a small catered and/or boxed meal program to their one building. We are consolidating them down to one next week.
Any feedback on what others are doing would be appreciated.
