Do you accept EBT/Food Stamps on campus?

    Good morning,

Does anyone accept Electronic Benefit Transfers (EBT) and/or food stamps on campus to help support food insecure students? If so, I'd appreciate the opportunity to learn more about how you implemented a program or system as required to make that happen.

    Thanks in advance,

We are starting this process for our university in the summer, so I personally can't help yet. However I know someone who does know quite a bit.
The current president of the Northwest College Bookstore Association, Tony Sanjume, spoke on this recently at a meeting. He may be willing to share his information with you.
    His email address is
I may not be help yet, but perhaps we can support each other through the process if you pursue it. I was hoping to start this year, but our campus is moving in the fall and the certifications are address specific.

Yes, we started accepting EBT about three years ago.  Our campus was one of the first in the country and the first in California.  Very successful in terms of the support it gives our students and the sales have been better than expected.

The application is not the easiest thing to wade through but it's also not the worst.

I can help walk you through the start of the process.
