Third-party advertising on campus?

Hi, all--do any of your campuses allow for third-party advertising on campus? I'm looking for documentation or policy from schools that allow advertising and would love to get it (if you have it) or hear if your school allows it (even if you don't have the policy). Many thanks!

    Hi Holly,

We have an external advertising program on our main campus.

Here is a link to our site, that includes the Media Kit (and rates), along with the policies and guidelines documents.

Our program includes digital screens, poster boards, backlits, and washroom boards.

I'm happy to answer any questions and share more about our process/policy.

    Regards,
    Mara

    Hi Holly,

We have a digital signage system that allows outside advertising for a fee. We do not have a policy and most outside advertising is pretty innocuous so there isn’t a huge need. If an ad of any sort contains controversial content or otherwise catches the eye of our digital signage vendor they’ll send it my way, but I can think of only a couple of internal ads that were needlessly inflammatory that I rejected or sent back for modification. Beyond that most needs have been pretty straightforward.

More than happy to answer any other questions you may have. For the record we do have a digital signage policy draft floating around, but it dealt mostly with codifying technology standards and procedures rather than content, with our policy manager feeling it was more appropriately cast as a procedures document.

Thanks for this response, Buz! So do you have a vendor that manages your digital signage system? Are they soliciting advertisers, or do all the interested advertisers come to you?
