Does your college/university have a mandatory meal plan participation for students?
If so who is required to participate?
Florida A&M University
Five years ago we began requiring meal plans for upperclass students. Prior to this point the only requirement was a full meal plan for first year students. Sophomore, Junior and Senior students are now required to get at least a 75-Block plan each semester (works about to about 4 meals per week). This is required for both residential and off-campus students. Best, Richard

What Was Your Green Dot Moment Today?
Hi All, At RISD all first-year students have to be on the Foundation plan (basically an unlimited plan). After that, the plan requirements are associated with the type of accommodations you are in: Essential RISD, Suite Experience, and Apartment Experience. Essential RISD and Suite Experience packages include one of two full meal plans with a varying mix of meal swipes and dining points. Apartment Experience rooms come with the Flex 7‐60 Dining Plan. Students living in these rooms can choose to enroll in the Foundation or Residential Dining Plans for an additional fee or can opt to a lower Flex plan.
There are kitchens available in residence halls for about ½ of our upper class student population.

For all of our students who live on campus in a residence hall with no kitchen facilities, they have a mandatory board requirement.
For all of our students who live on campus in a residence hall with kitchen facilities, they are not required to purchase a meal plan.
